By The Numbers: Countdowns

In our house, we’ve been doing a bunch of countdowns lately.  There is so much going on and so many things our family is getting ready for.  Here are some of our favorite countdowns lately.

-1: Days until Grammy arrives. She got here yesterday and the boys are thrilled. They love their time with Grammy – making muffins and pancakes. Going on long walks. Playing at the park.  And asking 9,472 questions about her clothes, shoes, jewelry, etc.

5: Days until Mommy’s ladies bible study starts up again!  We are reading through Esther this time and I’m already looking forward to the next two months of Sunday nights!

8: Days until we finally get to close on our house.

42: More boxes to be packed before moving day (estimated!)

11: Days until moving day. I both look forward to and dread this day.

15: Days until Brooks starts school!  He’s going to be going two days a week with his brother and I think he’s going to love it.  Not going to lie, a little nervous about how effective nap time on cots will be in a room of other kids, but I know they’ll get him into a routine. (Saving up my tears for this morning, I’m sure they’ll be flowing!)

23: Days until the fearless Spiderman and adorable St. Bernard get to make their appearance and walk the neighborhood begging for candy and treats. Don’t worry, this year Dean and I have had Landon in some rigorous candy identification training. After three years of dum dums and tootsie rolls (boring!), we’re teaching the kids how to find the good stuff (i.e. Snickers, Butterfingers, Reese, Twix) – all of mom and dad’s favorites!
