age two movie

Two boys and their first movie

This weekend, we took the boys to go see their first movie. We took them to the $2 movie theatre, because spending $15 (or whatever the cost is these days – we don’t go to movies very often!) per ticket seemed like a risky move for two little boys who might not make it through!

It was the perfect movie day – overcast and threatening rain 🙂

And we went and saw every little boys favorite movie – FROZEN! Yes, my kids LOVE the soundtrack and have seen the movie at Aunt Heidi’s so I figured it was a less risky option than, say, Transcendence 🙂

We went big with a tub of popcorn.

Overall, the kids had a pretty good time. We were losing them the last 45 mins with Brooks wandering aisles and saying “hi” to all his chair neighbors. Luckily, it was a 4pm movie so there were probably only 12 other people in the theatre and many were kids making just as much commotion as ours, so I didn’t feel too bad.  A couple Dum-Dum lollipops bribed them through the end. (I think I wanted to see how it played out more than they did!)

So, all in all, I’d take Landon again now, but I’d probably wait at least 6 mos or more before Brooks’ next viewing.  It’s hard for little guys to stay entertained that long and he isn’t quite there yet.  I love that they both got to experience this milestone together -so often Landon gets to do it ‘first’ and I love that this is something I can mark in their baby book that they did first together!

And Frozen, it was pretty cute, too.
